Description
Silky, rich, and creamy, this berry smoothie is a great way to try out different dairy-free milks. Our go-to smoothie is smooth, fresh, and brings the fruity goodness of berries and banana. It also makes a dream breakfast, with its irresistible combination of tart and sweet.
Smoothies and shakes can be changed up in many different ways to suit different tastes and seasons. Try plain or vanilla soy or pea milk if you’re after a protein-rich milk. Add 1 tbsp cocoa powder for extra chocolate flavor, or go for coconut milk for an irresistible coconutty tone. You could even use dairy-free ice cream instead of the yogurt for a decadent smoothie upgrade!
Ingredients
- 2 handfuls of frozen or fresh berries of your choice – raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, etc.
- 1 banana, or ⅓ cup plant-based yogurt (or 80 ml)
- ½ cup plant-based milk (or 120 ml)
- Agave or maple syrup, to taste
- Chopped vegan chocolate or cacao nibs, to garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Blitz in a good blender until smooth and creamy – and enjoy!
Notes
A hand blender should also work fine, as long as your fruit is fresh or thoroughly defrosted.
