Easy Homemade Hummus
- Total time
- 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup chickpeas (cook your own dried chickpeas in advance, or use canned)
- 2 tbsp tahini
- 2 cloves garlic
- Juice from 1 lemon (or 2-3 tbsp lemon juice)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp cumin (optional, but cumin adds a depth of flavor and a little spice)
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Blend all the ingredients together in a food processor until well combined. If your hummus is too dry or you want to make it smoother, add a little olive oil and/or a splash of the cooking liquid (aquafaba) from the chickpeas. Add gradually until you achieve the desired consistency.
- Enjoy!
- If using dried chickpeas, soak overnight and allow up to 2 hours for cooking before using in this recipe.
